UPCOMING CLASSES
SOCK KNITTING with Donna: This two-day sock class will be taught on double point needles and will be infant socks. Dates are Wed April 7 and 14 from 1 to 3. Fee is $30 and covers both classes. Yarn must be purchased at Yarns To Dye For and will be discounted 10%. Basic knitting knowledge is needed. I found in my recent baby sock knitting that this is a dandy way to learn the construction of sock knitting without all the stitches of an adult sock. These are quick and easy, and get you ready to knit a larger sock. Attendance is limited, so please sign up promptly.
BEGINNING LACE KNITTING with Marie Shanley: This four-day class will teach the fundamentals of lace knitting and will prepare you for scarves and shawls using beautiful lace patterns and charts. Yarn must be purchased at Yarns To Dye For and will be discounted 10%. Basic knitting knowledge is needed. Dates are Thurs April 8, 15, 22, 29 from 1 to 3. Fee is $15 per class or $50 for all four classes, paid in advance. Attendance is limited, so please sign up promptly.
BEGINNING KNITTING: Call for an appointment and have one-on-one instruction at a time suited to your schedule. Fee is $15 per hour. Ask for Donna.
MARBLING FOR BEGINNERS with Barb Luchtman: This three HOUR class will be held Friday April 16 from 1 to 4. Class will cover the basics of marbling and will include one 11”x60” silk scarf and one 36” sq scarf, (which we will have prepared for marbling prior to class), in the fee of $120, which must be paid at time of registration. More scarves can be purchased. This is a very limited class so sign up early. A waiting list will be kept for the following month.
SILK PAINTING SHIBORI STYLE with Donna: This three HOUR class will be held Friday April 30th from 1 to 4. In this class you will learn how to tie silks in order to resist the dyes. Immersion dyeing will be the technique of the day with multiple dipping to get the desired results. The fee of $120 will cover two 11”x60” silk scarves with more available for purchase. These scarves will not require steam setting and can be taken home at the end of the day. Attendance is very limited, so please sign up promptly. A waiting list will be kept for the following month.
FUN AND GAMES:
Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 to 2. This is a social knit, with lots of laughter. Come in and meet some very talented knitters who enjoy each other’s company and seeing the work of our hands. Yarn purchases are discounted when you knit with us.
GAIL’S ART COLLECTION: ALL of Gail Opp’s Japanese Sumi-e collection is offered below gallery prices, as her desire is to have them in homes that appreciate this style of painting. These will make wonderful, inexpensive gifts for others or for yourself. Don’t miss an opportunity to purchase one of these lovely paintings by a nationally renowned artist.
