What a lovely Summer we are having. I must say, we are very fortunate in this area, as we have not had the storms and bad weather that has whirled around us, both North and South. The sky is “Carolina blue” and that is one of the dyes on my range, waiting for more yarn dyeing. Our yarn dying has been wonderful, the weather cooperated so that we could work comfortably, (if you can call 200 degree dyeing and a hot flash comfortable), but the colors are divine, bright and oh so pretty.
Personally, I’m looking forward to doing more vat dye discharge printing; I’m considering having a 3 day class in this technique, possibly in Sept., so if you are interested, stop in and let’s talk about it. I also have all the supplies for a new technique of silk dyeing that I have yet to try. I’m always excited to learn a new way to put color into silk and yarn.
In the last week I’ve had five ‘new artists’ learning how to paint on silk…two adults and two 10 yr olds. It’s been a marvelous week and the work turned out was fabulous. It gives me so much pleasure to teach this technique to those who have never done it, and help them to find a new love in their creative life. Silk painting can change your perception; once you do it, you will never see things the same again.
FYI: Peg is available for repairs on heirloom pieces, and finishing your knitting, ($15 per hour). She is also available for teaching knitting and crochet, ($35 for two hours). Just call and make an appointment. She also is a whiz with sock knitting, so if you’ve always wanted to knit socks, but are a little bit intimidated, she will help you through the process. Just call and make an appointment.

If you are interested in learning any of the following:
Vat Dye Discharge printing
I will structure a class for a minimum of three (in some cases, a maximum of three), for one, two, or three-day classes. Let’s talk about what you’d like to learn. This is also a good opportunity to have some educational fun with family members visiting you. Family classes are so much fun!
FUN AND GAMES

laughter. Come in and meet some very talented knitters who enjoy each
others company and seeing the work of our hands. Yarn purchases are
