Happy Holidays!

Hello Fiberlovers!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are sending the January newsletter a little early because we are doing something we haven’t done before. We are offering a 25% discount on all hand dyed and hand painted silks! This sale is only until Dec 31, so think SILK when you are wondering where to find the right gift, at the last minute, and at the best price.

Don’t forget, all our manufactured yarns are 20% off til the end of December. It’s a good time to stock up for your Winter knitting.

The kimono is coming along nicely – back is finished and I’m working on the two front panels. I’m enjoying very much knitting with the Cascade Pure Alpaca. It is so soft and lovely, I might knit something else with it when I finish the kimono. The multi colored short kimono that I’m knitting with Universal’s Shades is also coming along well. I’m at the point where I knit the other sleeve so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We are well-stocked with our hand-dyed yarns, but they are moving fast. We will order more yarn to dye in January and hope for some decent weather for dyeing.

Have you seen our NEW TOY? Rita has brought her loom boards in for all of you who would love to weave small projects, but do not want the expense or intense time it takes to set up a big loom. A great gift for anyone – kids and adults will thoroughly enjoy this loom board. Peg wove a gorgeous bag that could be an evening bag, it’s so pretty. She will be happy to show you how to set up the board and begin weaving right away; just think of what you can do with all those tiny yarn scraps. The loom board sells for $12.

We are also extending our sale on mesh yarns – so easy and quick for a surprise gift; also, to help you get some holiday shopping out of the way…we are continuing our 25% off sale on all of our hand-dyed cotton, silk, and rayon CLOTHING. This is the first time we have put our clothing on sale, so take advantage and get a big slice of your holiday shopping out of the way.

We have patterns galore, in fact a full room of them, with chairs and tables. Come spend some time looking through the patterns and get inspired. Find something new to knit; we are happy to help you find the right yarn for a new project, and perhaps you can find some hand dyed yarn that will be perfect. New yarns are arriving each day…come see the latest.

You will now find vintage Japanese fabrics that can be purchased in amounts from very small to full kimono lengths. In addition, we have kimono and obi that can be purchased whole. These garments are high quality. If you have an interest in Japanese kimono and obi fabrics, we just might have what you are looking for.

Don’t forget, our sale room is marked down to 30% ALWAYS…good bargains there!

See below for class times and dates.

If you are interested in learning any of the following:
Silk Painting
Silk Dyeing
Shibori Dyeing
Yarn Dyeing,
I will structure a class for a minimum of three (in some cases, a maximum of three), for one, two, or three-day classes. Let’s talk about what you’d like to learn. This is also a good opportunity to have some educational fun with family members visiting you. Family classes are so much fun!

Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 to 2. This is a social knit, with lots of
laughter. Come in and meet some very talented knitters who enjoy each
others company and seeing the work of our hands. Yarn purchases are
discounted on the days you knit with us. We are a very “relaxed” shop.

You can find yarns that we carry, or can get for you, at the following
websites. If we don’t have it on the shelf, we will gladly order for you.
We also subscribe to a Skeins List, which gives us an opportunity to find
discontinued and out of date yarns as well. If it can be found, we’ll find it
– and for you who live out of town, we will gladly send it to you.
