Hello Fiberlovers!
Wow, isn’t it nice to have a Florida Winter in the mountains of North Carolina! This is the warmest Winter I’ve had in the 22 years that I’ve lived here, but I’m not complaining, although I do love a snowy day to curl up and just knit.
SALE FOR MARCH: we have put more yarns in the 30% off baskets for the month, but you must mention receiving our newsletter in order to take advantage of this sale.
Our shop is the place to find the new mesh yarns…we now have Marina, Flora, Flamenco, Poppy, and Bodega…come see the different ways we have used these interesting woven yarns.
Our new line of yarns-to-dye turned out to exceed our expectations. The dyes are gorgeous and bright. I just finished a scarf using the sock weight, double knitted, and trimmed in Flamenco for ruffling. What fun! We have a very wide variety of yarns that we dye, if you have not had an opportunity to see, feel, or use our hand-dyed darlings, come see what we are producing.
Other items that we make are our lovely silk scarves, many sizes and techniques, (check out the arashi shibori accordian-pleated scarves), and our fun and extremely comfortable t-shirts, dyed in the traditional Japanese shibori technique. Each one is an individual work of art.
The yarns I’m currently dyeing are:
Superfine Alpaca Lace weight
Mohair/wool/nylon boucle
Superfine organic merino wool
Silk/merino 50-50 blend
Superwash Merino, worsted, sport, and bulky Baby alpaca/silk blend – super soft Kid Mohair Cashmere blends Superwash merino chunky (NEW) and Local yarns from Madison County
…with more to come. We also offer any of our yarns that are awaiting dyeing, if you’d like some in natural white. Want to knit a special sweater with a special color? We will dye the yarn to the color that fits your needs…have something you’d like dyed, bring it in.

Yarns to be used must be purchased from Yarns To Dye For; we have a broad variety of reasonably priced yarns to choose from, already put up in skeins, ready to dye. If you are interested in learning any of the following:
Silk Painting
Silk Dyeing
Shibori Dyeing
Yarn Dyeing,
I will structure a class for a minimum of three (in some cases, a maximum of three), for one, two, or three-day classes. Let’s talk about what you’d like to learn. This is also a good opportunity to have some educational fun with family members visiting you.
FUN AND GAMES
Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 to 2. This is a social knit, with lots of laughter. Come in and meet some very talented knitters who enjoy each others company and seeing the work of our hands. Yarn purchases are discounted on the days you knit with us. We are a very “relaxed” shop.
You can find yarns that we carry, or can get for you, at the following websites. If we don’t have it on the shelf, we will gladly order for you.
We also subscribe to a Skeins List, which gives us an opportunity to find discontinued and out of date yarns as well. If it can be found, we’ll find it
- and for you who live out of town,
we will gladly send it to you.
