SALE FOR JANUARY: 30% OFF ALL YARNS THAT ARE IN BASKETS!

Hello Fiberlovers!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season and join us in welcoming in the New Year with high hopes for peace and love, or as John Lennon wrote “we hope it’s a good one, without any fear”.

Thank you for taking advantage of our December sale…it’s the biggest of the year for us, and we appreciate all who came and saved money while adding to their yarn stash. We plan to have something special each month, but it will only be offered to our newsletter customers, so be sure and tell us you receive our newsletter in order to cash in on the current sale.

SALE FOR JANUARY: 30% OFF ALL YARNS THAT ARE IN BASKETS!

For those of you who fell in love with the discontinued Universal Yarns – Marina, the ruffled scarves made with the open woven bands, we have ordered two types of yarns that are similar, and they are scheduled to be delivered the first week of January. I’m excited to see and knit these yarns, as are many of our customers.

We are excited to be receiving a new line of yarns-to-dye. We will have four new yarns to begin with – to test the dyeing process – and assuming they are as wonderful as we expect they will be, we will then expand the line. We have a very wide variety of yarns that we dye, if you have not had an opportunity to see, feel, or use our hand-dyed darlings, come see what we are producing.

Other items that we make are our lovely silk scarves, many sizes and techniques, (check out the arashi shibori accordian-pleated scarves), and our fun and extremely comfortable t-shirts, dyed in the traditional Japanese shibori technique. Each one is an individual work of art.

The yarns I’m currently dyeing are:

Superfine Alpaca Lace weight
Mohair/wool/nylon boucle
Superfine organic merino wool
Silk/merino 50-50 blend
Superwash Merino, worsted, sport, and bulky Baby alpaca/silk blend – super soft Kid Mohair Cashmere blends Superwash merino chunky (NEW) and Local yarns from Madison County

…with more to come. We also offer any of our yarns that are awaiting dyeing, if you’d like some in natural white. Want to knit a special sweater with a special color? We will dye the yarn to the color that fits your needs…have something you’d like dyed, bring it in.

Keep cool and knit on

Hello Fiberlovers!

Oh my, with all this heavy heat around us, we who live in the mountains are so fortunate; it’s certainly not cool, but not too warm to knit. Take up small projects that do not drape your lap and legs in wool. I put my big, wool projects aside for cooler weather and am knitting socks…small and cool knitting. Our hand-dyed sock yarns are currently our best sellers in the store.

Thank you to our July customers who are entered in the drawing for the basket of yarn. The winner will be called on Aug 1st. August is going to be a three-week month for us, as the store will be closed from Aug 22 til Aug 30.

We are so grateful for the enthusiastic response we are receiving from our regular customers, as well as the Summer tourists, for our hand-dyed yarns. We have gone from dyeing one day every other week, to dyeing an average of three days weekly. Our hand-dyed yarns are also out selling our distributor yarns, which we find to be quite amazing. We are also doing quite a bit of dyeing for individual customers, which allows them the benefit of knitting yarns in colors they need for a specific project. Our hand-dyed yarns are also being used in conjunction with solid colors of distributor yarns. It has opened up a whole new opportunity for color design. Come and check them out for yourself – you will be pleasantly surprised!

The yarns I’m currently dyeing are:

Superfine Alpaca Lace weight
Mohair/wool/nylon boucle
Superfine organic merino wool
Silk/merino 50-50 blend
Super wash Merino
