SO MUCH YARN! Our first orders of the year just came in this week and we have been very busy getting them processed and on the shelf for you. We have yarns from Berroco, Universal Yarns, Plymouth, and an order from Cascade will ship next month. The colors are so exciting, and the make up of the yarns is lovely. These are the NEW yarns and you can click on the distributor links below and check them out.
Cascade: Pure Alpaca is in – the larger order will ship mid March.
Plymouth: Revel, Encore DK
Universal Yarns: more Deluxe Worsted, more Classic Shades and Classic Shades w/sequins, Classic Shades Big Time, and Uptown Worsted.
Berroco: Berroco Sox, Boboli Lace, Floret, Folio,Fuji, Kodiak, Maya, Remix, Ultra Alpaca Light, and Vintage.
Lantern Moon: Double point needles in sizes 1 2 & 3. These are the DP needles that everyone loves to use for socks. The ones we ordered are ‘Feather Light’, and would become the favorite of all DP needle lovers.
In need of more shelf space, we have STUFFED our SALE ROOM; all yarns in that space are 30% off.
You can always reach our distributors through the links we show below. Have some fun and look up a few of these new yarns, although to really see AND FEEL how interesting these yarns are, you’ll just have to come in the shop.
The kimono has half a sleeve (I’m not a fast knitter, and have to grab my knitting time as I can). I can’t say enough about the Cascade Pure Alpaca. It is heavenly in your hands and makes a lovely fabric. It has become one of my favorites. I’m knitting this garment on a needle size US5, and it would seem to me to be the perfect gauge for this Alpaca.
We will be at Campbell School, teaching silk painting the first week of March; if you are interested or know someone who is, call Campbell School at 800-365-5724 and ask if there are any openings in the class. You’ll never see things the same way after you learn silk painting…it’s magical!
We are getting quite low on our hand painted yarns, as it has been WAY TOO COLD to go out on the deck and dye yarn. The pots are all frozen and it’s too cold to even empty them. We will order yarn to dye the second week of March, after we return from Campbell. I can hardly wait to dye yarn as new combinations of colors are dancing in my head.
Have you seen our NEW TOY? Rita has brought her loom boards in for all of you who would love to weave small projects, but do not want the expense or intense time it takes to set up a big loom. A great gift for anyone – kids and adults will thoroughly enjoy this loom board. Peg wove a gorgeous bag that could be an evening bag, it’s so pretty. She will be happy to show you how to set up the board and begin weaving right away; just think of what you can do with all those tiny yarn scraps. The loom board sells for $12.
We have patterns galore, in fact a full room of them, with chairs and tables. Come spend some time looking through the patterns and get inspired. Find something new to knit; we are happy to help you find the right yarn for a new project, and perhaps you can find some hand dyed yarn that will be perfect. New yarns are arriving each day…come see the latest.
You will now find vintage Japanese fabrics that can be purchased in amounts from very small to full kimono lengths. In addition, we have kimono and obi that can be purchased whole. These garments are high quality. If you have an interest in Japanese kimono and obi fabrics, we just might have what you are looking for.
Don’t forget, our sale room is marked down to 30% ALWAYS…good bargains there!
See below for class times and dates.
